I am just exploring all the features that WordPress has to offer. Anyway, I understand that I have not posted anything as yet but just to add the widget, Recent posts, I think it suppose to show up on the blog. The Follow My Blog, Archives, Categories and Tags are there and I have not even invited anyone to view my blog nor have I posted anything but the Archives is showing as well as the tags. I tried something. I deleted all the widgets to start all over again because I thought maybe I did not save the widget but the weird thing is, the same exact thing happened. Everything is there on the blog: Follow my blog, Archives, Categories and Tags but not Recent Posts. Am I missing something here?

No widget can display any data that does not yet exist. I clicked on every widget to ensure that it is labelled and in the place where I want it to be. I don't like to drag since my mouse loves to run away from my hand so I have enabled the setting where you can just click on Add. I have done this process three times and yet, the Recent posts is still not showing up on the blog. But the interesting thing is, if I try to add it again, it will show up as added twice on the Widget screen but still not appearing on the blog itself. Please help!

If your change theme or the first time you move a single widget in any theme here > Appearance > Widgets the "default display" which does not contain actual widgets disappears.

Simply go here > Appearance > Widgets and drag and drop the widgets you want to use into place. Click each one to open it, configure it if required, click save and click close.

I recommend using the step by step tutorial prepared by Staff. There's a link to it on the bottom of your Admin page http://learn/wordpress.com

I arranged the widgets in the following order: Follow blog, Recent Posts, Archives, Categories (in side bar 1) and Tags (in side bar 2). Although I am seeing everything in the Widgets section, if I go to my blog, the "Recent Posts" is missing. I noticed it disappeared since I started adding on the other widgets. Please help!
