Basically, if I wanted the background to act the way I want it to I would have to change the theme to a Fixed theme, is that right?

It makes no sense at all for a novice to take on that huge CSS undertaking on a responsive width theme.

Fixed means the width of the theme does not change according to screen resolution (or the width of browser) your visitors use.

Fluid means the width of the theme changes according to screen resolution (or the width of browser) your visitors use.

Responsive width means the the layout adapts depending on the size of the device being used to view your site. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.

The WordPress.com Theme team uses the “responsive-width” tag in the Themes Showcase to indicate which themes have this feature.

I'm sorry if this has been covered before. I did do a Google search, but couldn't find anything that definitively covered this.

I am using the Fresh and Clean theme and have customised it to my suiting for my blog. The only issue I've found though is the inconsistency in the size of the background image I have designed in Photoshop and then uploaded. It fits perfectly, exactly as it should, on my 15" Macbook Pro. However, when I went to work and tried to show it off I was surprised to find that the background image had moved, due to the size of the window on the screen (an 11" and then a 27" iMac). It looked terrible on the 27", tucked away in the corner, not filling the screen the way I hoped it would.

My question is: can I fix it so that the background image will adjust accordingly, no matter what size screen I am using.
