Hi. The DNS seems to be correct now on our end. Congratulations on getting the CNAME set up (it's tricky stuff). It looks like something may not be set up correctly on the forumotion side. I show them forwarding tubbycraft.forumotion.ca to the CNAME q52.dnspro.org, which does not display your forum. It's weird that browsing directly to tubbycraft.forumotion.ca displays your web site while following the new CNAME record does not; maybe there's something that the forumotion DNS doesn't like about doing duplicate CNAMES, or maybe they need to set up some additional configuration on their end. At any rate, I think that at this point, you'll need to get forumotion tech support involved. I would say something more or less like this:

I have set up the following DNS record to forward forum.tubbycraft.com to tubbycraft.forumotion.ca:

CNAME forum tubbycraft.forumotion.ca.

The resulting DNS lookup appears as follows:

;; ANSWER SECTION:
forum.tubbycraft.com.	3258	IN	CNAME	tubbycraft.forumotion.ca.
tubbycraft.forumotion.ca. 172458 IN	CNAME	q52.dnspro.org.
q52.dnspro.org. 47	IN	A	174.36.29.24
q52.dnspro.org. 47	IN	A	174.36.29.25
q52.dnspro.org. 47	IN	A	174.36.29.20
q52.dnspro.org. 47	IN	A	174.36.29.21
q52.dnspro.org. 47	IN	A	174.36.29.22
q52.dnspro.org. 47	IN	A	174.36.29.23

When I visit http://forum.tubbycraft.com/, I am forwarded not to my forums but to http://forum.forumactif.com/ (which is also using dnspro.org for DNS). Can you help me investigate why the CNAME is not forwarding properly?

Okay, so I've successfully navigated to the "Custom DNS" part of my blog's dashboard.

Now, I'm not the most code-savvy person in the world. I've pulled some information from my forum provider on how to do this:

I have already a homepage, can I link a subdomain with my forumotion board?
[ex.: forum.my_domain.com]

Yes, of course - it's almost the same procedure as above. Just assign the CNAME to your subdomain instead:

When you choose the sub-domain which you wish to use on your forum (forum.my_domain, for example, is a sub-domain of my_domain), you have to create the corresponding CNAME entry in the DNS administration of your domain: a CNAME entry allows to point an url towards the other one in a transparent way. That way, you can link forum.my_domain with forumotion board YourForum.forumotion.com.

Any recorder of domains names possesses different interfaces, and thus different methods to create such CNAME. However, in a general way, the process takes place as described below:

Connect to your user account on the site of your domain name provider, and go to the DNS management.
Check that the chosen sub-domain is not already used.
In the generally entitled field "source", "origin", or "alias" enter the prefix of sub-domain (i.e. "Forum" if you want to use the sub-domain forum.my_domain).
In the generally entitled field "destination" or " target host ", enter the original url of your forum, address.my_forum.
You will maybe have to inform the TTL (Time To Live): define the maximal possible value here.

The link to my forum is http://tubbycraft.forumotion.ca/. I want to make it so that (like I said above) I can put that on my blog, and when it is clicked, it directs the user to my forum and the url of the forum at the top of the screen is http://forum.tubbycraft.com/

The forum you created has a URL and that's the only URL it can have. The URL is irrelevant to anyone who is on the blog itself as you create a custom menu and in it your include that link. The result will be a Forum tab in the horizontal menu along with Home
About
Forum
Join Server
Ranks
Rules
and when that "forum tab is clicked your visitors will be in your forum.
