That's odd. I hope you are not typing anything extraneous or leaving the http:// out because this URL for your blog http://inelegantlyenglish.wordpress.com/
Note: No WordPress.com blog URLs have the acquainted "www" in them. However if anyone does insert that the links will redirect to the URL without the "www". http://www.inelegantlyenglish.wordpress.com/ will seamlessly redirect to http://inelegantlyenglish.wordpress.com/

Yep - just discovered that this forum post now appears on Google! But at least I have arrived (kind of). And it did make me laugh.

But think my poor terminology isn't helping here - if I just type in the URL into the address bar, I still get no where either.

I just feel really rather stupid. Am I just being over keen given that it's only been 48 hours since I set up the blog?

You don't have to put the login. If anyone puts your URL in the address bar or follows your Link as you posted it here, they will get to your blog.

In fact - I'm only 48 hours into being a blogger - and my learning curve has been somewhat large already.

But please help before I drive myself crazy.

I understand that typing the name of my blog into Google won't bring up my blog (given that I'm new, have few tags and I'm competing against high ranking sites with one or either of my blog name words) - but how come every time I type in, or copy and paste, the exact address of my blog into a search engine- it leads no-where?

I set up a link from / to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn - and this has been driving traffic to my site fine. But use a search engine and I don't exist. I've set the blog to be searchable by search engines but no luck with this so far: ... Unless I use my own social media links - the only way I can find my blog is by logging in to it...

I feel stupid. And I need some help! Sorry... any comments appreciated: M
