<p>You can only set a blog to one <a href="http://en.support.wordpress.com/language-settings/">language</a> in Settings -&#62; General.</p>
<p>My best suggestion is to create another blog with the other language you'd like to use. On your German-based food blog, add a link to your English blog*, and vice versa.</p>
<p>* If you'd like to have that link in your navigation menu, you can create a <a href="http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/">custom menu</a> and add a custom link to that blog. (By default, published pages are displayed in the navigation menu in alphabetical order.)
