Nope, I'm not receiving any of them by email. And I don't have an RSS reader set up on my MAC at home either. So other than me having typed these in to WordPress on my own at some point (which I would think would make it even easier to delete them since there's not true commitment there), I get no updates on them. (Other than the Reader area on WordPress that has started this whole conversation.)

Is it possible for me to give permission for WordPress to just go into my account and delete them once and for all?

If you are expecting to see blogs that you are following here please check that you used the same email address and that they are not still pending.

There's another way you can do this by visiting blogs you want to "unfollow" > http://en.support.wordpress.com/following/#unfollow-a-blog You go to the blog in question and click the unfollow link on the Admin bar.
