thanks for your reply, the post itself has an image from the media library which pulls up fine, its only the thumbnail from the same image that is not pulling up.

and this seems to happen randomly not to all posts/images

It looks like the broken images didn't get uploaded correctly in your media library. You will need to re-upload the images, then add them into your gallery.

A lot of broken images thumbnails keep appearing in the Ideation and Intent theme, the current homepage on noisypilgrims.com is an example. Also here on this post http://noisypilgrims.com/2012/08/16/how-a-business-school-celebrates-independence-day/

Often there are sidebar images that are thumbnails that are broken,

any reason this is happening? anything i can do to prevent this?
