my stats are VERY messed up. My day with the most views, October 20, 2012, had 660 views until this Monday when suddenly my blog only had 584 views on October 20, 2012.

This is something that happened in the past, why would the stats change over the course of 48 hours? I've even checked it on different web-servers and devices.

What the heck? How can you take views away? I'm not a mathematician but even I know this defies all logic.

Likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can "like" and "share" your posts in several locations such as the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat.
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/07/09/wordpress-followers-likes-and-stats/

I choose to reduce my RSS Feed to "summary" here > Settings > Reading
For each article in a feed, show
Full text
Summary
Doing that compels followers to click in and read the full post on my blogs.

WordPress.com stats are not real time stats. that means they take time to update. Also as I posted above one does not need to click into your blog and create a page view stat to click a like button.

Why don’t post/page views add up to total views?
Post/page views are included in total views, but there are many views to your site that are not a post or page URL. The front pages, category/tag/date/author archives, and searches are all examples of other views that only count towards total views. http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#additional-info

I do not believe that my stats page is working correctly. Like today, I have gotten a couple of likes and a new follower, but my stats tell me that no one has viewed my blog today.
