ok, i don't have a 2nd monitor to check that, but thats seems to be a very logical answer. does my browser actually save the view size of a website? didn't know about that...

Your two blogs are exactly the same. You just need to change the view size in each of your browser windows or tabs: command or control 0 / + / - / to reset / zoom in / zoom out, respectively.

Hi!
Hope you can help as I couldn't find a solution on my own.

I'm using the bueno-Theme on 2 Blogs.
Actually, this is my first blog: http://gedankenflusen.wordpress.com
and I moved it to http://silkesteinl.wordpress.com via XML (WordPress eXtended RSS).

So I got the content on the new Blog and I also changed the theme into Bueno, so that everthing should look the same, but, comparing both blogs, I realised, that the theme on gedankenflusen.wordpress.com is smaller than it is on silkesteinl.wordpress.com - an I like the old style better.

Can you explain me, what I need to do to get that old smaller design? I couldn't find any helpful theme-option and I'm not using the CSS-Editor.

By the way: Don't know if it matters, but I also realised, that my gedankenflusen.wordpress.com dashboard shows a smaller font than the silkesteinl.wordpress.com dashboard - maybe I need to change a dashboard setting?

Hello, I have a question about title/header text. I can't seem to find where to change it (the bit where it says 'just another wordpress blog). I've looked through topics on the forum and obviously checked all the blog theme options and can't find it - GAH! Please help. Am using the Bueno. THANKS!

Silly question, but I CANNOT find where on Bueno to change the color scheme...I see many of you have, but where is that option? NOT the background color, but the colot of the date bubbles, footer, etc...

Check that... I just found out that the main title is .site-title... but I still can't find the widget selector. Also, is there anyway to change the size of the text without having to edit the CSS? Thanks!

Would anyone happen to know what the text selectors are so I can change them with Typekit? I can change the paragraph, post title and the date tag, but I can't seem to find the selector for the Main(Bueno) page title, or the widget titles etc. Thanks!

That would be because you are using a different version of Bueno than we are.
You may not be aware of it, but wp.COM and wp.ORG are two separate entities. This is the forum for wp.COM.
Our software is different, the themes we can use are specially adapted to work on a multi-user platform.

Scroll down to the bottom of your site and these words:
"POWERED BY WORDPRESS"
will link you to the forum where someone can help you.

Hey!

I'm having some difficulties with this theme as well.For some reason I can't get the comments for the blog posts to work. I just started making the website and have lots of work to do, but the address is : http://www.hdolsen.com

Forsome reason posts can be posted on the blog site, but the comments doesn't show up. But then if I say I want the ability to post comments on my portfolio site it appears to be possible to at least post a comment (not look at them all here either).

I tried using a plugin called "IntenseDebate", but it would only show up on my portfoliosite when I allowed comments there..

I saw some of you guys with the same theme doesn't have that problem.
I'd really appreaciate all tips and help I can get!

If you add each cake as a seperate post rather than on a page you can use categories and tags. I'd suggest categories being cakes/cupcakes/cookies etc and then tag each one with the event/colour/other information. You can include both the categories and tag widgets in the side/bottom-bar so that people can navigate similar posts in your blog. I think that you can even customise the navigation links to redirect to categories pages.

As it stands I think the only way to remove the "comments closed" box is with the paid CSS upgrade.

First time posting here after starting to use wordpress.com last week to set up a little portfolio site for my baked goodies. I chose Bueno because I love the adorable dots and font and reading through this forum has been helpful to learn more about how it all works. So, thanks!

I will have my chef portrait and higher quality cake pictures soon but have been playing with cell phone pictures so far. What I'm hoping to be able to do is tag photos (for example, wedding, or blue) and be able to search and view any cake with that tag. Is there a widget or feature that can do this? And, please let me know if I should be asking this elsewhere!

Also, I believe from searching the forums that I cannot hide the 'comments closed' text at the bottom of static pages. Is this still true for the Bueno theme or are there potential work-arounds?

The clear width in the sidebar is 280px. Keep your images at or below that and you will be fine.

The header image size for Bueno exactly 930 × 198 pixels will be used as-is. Prepare an image of that size first and then this is where you upload it > Dashboard > Appearance > Themes > Header

You can preview CSS changes without paying for the upgrade but changes you make will appear only to you and won't be permanent. The code you'd need to include is:

I did a search and found your answer for you. If you're experienced with CSS, that's something that can be done with the Custom CSS upgrade. If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade and renew it annually. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.

Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, I recommend that you don’t buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own.

If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.
