I don't think the 'callto' tag is allowed under XML which is what WP outputs into. (I don't find any reference to it right off) I do not that two different services use it though. Skype and Microsoft's Netmeeting. That might be why it's not been adopted by the various w3 groups.

As to it being allowed, not sure. You can send in a feedback from yourdashboard and ask or even suggest support for this. I know WP has support for some of the more optional tags like aim: and icq: I don't know if any of the themes support these fields though.

I wanted to make a contact section using a text widget in the sidebar. So I designed with macromedia some pics with links to my mail, to my odeo inbox and to my skype account. For this last one, I wanted to create a direct "call icon" so I use the tag callto://<myskypenickhere>. When I pasted the code in the text widget everything worked but this. Is this not allowed?
