Now that we have set that aside I would like to answer this question:

Can I make it more obvious that I am the author?

(1) The first method is to choose a theme that has an "authors" page template.
(2) The second method is to create a Category for each author's name and have the authors assign their categories correctly to each post they make.
(3) The third is for each Author to simply type a byline into each post. Example: The Wonderful Post I've Ever Read by John Doe

And IMHO as these options do exist insisting that staff edit each and every theme is not likely to happen.

Weak... I think all themes should have an option to display author names. It couldn't be all that hard to code. My friend and I both post on our blog and aside from signing it (which is lame) its impossible to tell who posted what.

I think a text widget at the top of the sidebar with a thumbnail sized image and a brief bio is a good idea. I also have an "About" page (about the author and the blog).

P.S. MistyLook is another theme that does have author templates and displays an author's name under the title of each post.

If you're the blog owner then yes, your friends are blog-unsavvy. But they'll appreciate your making things simple for them. Some themes, as TT points out, automatically list the author's screen name: I know that Neo Sapien does this, but most do not. If you don't like the themes that do this automatically, then you could always sign your posts. It's a bit clunky, but it will make things clearer.

Each designer chooses how to display authorship in their own way in the themes they create. Some are more obvious than others. Which theme are you using?
Tip: We can do a better job of helping if we can see what you are referring to. Could you also provide a link to your blog when you post to the forum please?

I just recently published my blog and notified my friends, and so far 2 people have made comments along the lines of "Are these your posts? I can't tell!" Do I just have blog un-savvy friends, or can I do something to make it more obvious that I am the author of my posts??

Thank you!
