Hooray! Now you've got it. There is no global setting to create truncated post entries on the front page of our blogs. The Twenty Eleven theme is not designed to display only post excerpts like Fresh and Clean and Inuit Types are so you do need to insert the more tag into your posts.

What's "checked"? The setting on this page > Settings > Reading is for display ing either the full text or a summary in the RSS feed for posts only. There is once caveat when splitting the content using the Add More tag: it can slow down your main page loading times and you have to consider those that are on slower internet connection - and there is still a large percentage that are!

The theme has an active excerpt box below the editor. Optimally, I'd like my home page to show the most recent post in its entirety followed by summaries of prior posts. I've tried adjusting some settings but so far I've been unable to make this change.
