We actually don't have any record of that draft every having content besides a single non-breaking space.

Unfortunately, if it ever had more than that space, it is definitely gone for good.

Doing things offline, is obviously the fool proof way to fix this; wish I had done that earlier. I guess I just expect a particular organizations services to do what it says it will do.

I appreciate your input. What is the likelihood of someone from the WordPress staff actually looking into my situation from the back door side of things to see if anything is recoverable from their end?

I'm so sorry this happened to you. :( After the fact, all I can suggest is that you always use an offline blog editor in the future. If you use one then you will have a back-up on your own computer of every post and page you create in it and publish to your blog from it.

Timethief thank you for your input, unfortunately I can and have been able to see where there are timestamps links for revision, but when I click on each autosaved revision, I get the same thing....nothing in the body. It's like I never even wrote the blog.

I have been using an offline editor (Windows Live Writer) for some time now - but since this "feature" has been reported in the forum I have been extra careful - just before I click "Update, Save, Publish etc" I do a "Select All" & Copy with my mouse to save everything in the edit window - just in case.

This issue keeps being reported ever since the latest major updates; it's been months now but WP staff have never said anything about it. My answer is avoid using drafts: when starting a new post, write a couple of lines, set the post visibility to private, publish the post, continue writing and updating, turn to public when finished.

My other answer is that computer rule no.1 is back-up: draft glitch apart, a momentary browser or connection problem could also destroy your work, so better write your text in a text editor then copypaste it into the HTML post editor.

I'm so frustrated! I just spent over an hour writing a post. It was 1000 words or so; finished the post, added my tags, checked my categories, etc and clicked the preview button, when the preview came up the only thing that showed up was my post title. I went back to my editing screen and nothing was there! Not only that but there are timestamp links where it "supposedly" autosaved during the last hour several times and when you click on those, nothing shows up in the body of my post! Where did my freaking post go? This is beyond frustrating to the point where I don't even want to mess with WordPress any longer. Do any of you have any answers? My blog is found here http://pastorjasonwilson.wordpress.com and the title of the post was "You're A Natural".
