This is stated in the FAQs. Names are never re-cycled. You can use a similar name but you cannot get the original blog name back again.

But since it didn't import to my liking I deleted the blog, but kept my wordpress account. Now I want to start the blog again, with the same page, but everytime I try to do so, I get an error message that the blog address already exists! But if I go to the address, a message appears which says that the author has removed the blog!

How do I reclaim the old address back? Thanks a lot.
