One last question. Hopefully anyway!
FreeParking have space for only a primary and secondary name server. On the instruction page, there are three. Will this matter?

To be fair to freeparking, they've just got back to me and said change the nameservers to WordPress. I'll try again, although last time I tried that, it didn't work either! even after 72 hours. That could well just be me!

You can have your site hosted at WordPress.COM and still use your old jerk host for email if you want - some DNS & MX records need to be made / changed - bit tricky -

I use my old host (not a jerk) for my email after moving two sites to WordPress.com - they were nice and helpful and the cost is greatly reduced for the email only.

You have several options and the Staff here are very helpful.

They're just being unusually possessive with your domain, which is rightfully your property. They shouldn't be changing settings behind your back.

To be honest, I recommend transferring your domain to a registrar that wouldn't be as aggressively possessive.

Basically, all you need to do is follow this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

Keep in mind that it can take domain changes (like nameservers changes) up to 72 hours (though usually much less) to propagate to your ISP. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your ISP refreshes their DNS cache.

Yep. I hear you. But FreeParking's advice was that it wasn't working because THEY needed to have the DNS. I had changed the name servers to the wordpress ones as instructed, but it didn't work, so I followed the Free Parking instructions and changed it back. The message back from FreeParking is below. Do you both need the DNS? Is that even possible? Who's right?
I've currently changed the DNS back to freeparking and pointed the IP address. I now get a different error message, which shows the IP number, but still no redirection of my domain name.

What do I do?!

FreeParking Message...

This domain's DNS is not currently on our name servers. Should you wish
to use our email, hosting, or web or IP forwarding services then the DNS
must be with us.

To move the DNS back to us please go to the option in the Maintain a
Domain section of the My Domains drop down menu, or contact your current
DNS hosts about this issue.

You can move the DNS back to us and use IP forwarding whereby the webhosts
give you the IP address of the server where your site is hosted. You then
enter this it into the DNS manager web server section. This will enable
you to host the mail here and point the domain to your site.

Hi. At the moment, the nameservers for tribalfitnessbootcamps.co.uk are NOT pointing to WordPress.COM:
http://whois.domaintools.com/tribalfitnessbootcamps.co.uk

They need to be changed to the ones appearing on this support documentation:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-mapping-an-existing-domain

If you don't know how to change them, please contact your current domain name registrar because the procedure varies from one registrar to the other.

Only when you change the nameservers are you normally able to pay for the domain mapping upgrade.

Then it's a matter of waiting 24-72 hours (usually less) for the nameserver changes to reflect on every computer on the planet.

HELP! I'd pay a king's ransom if someone could help me with this problem. I'm not a techie, so any help would need to be simple! My blog is tribalfitnessbootcamps.wordpress.com and I own the domain name http://www.tribalfitnessbootcamps.co.uk, which I bought from FreeParking.co.uk. I've followed all the instructions to have the .co.uk address pointed to the blog, but it's not working. I think I've paid for all the relevant upgrades on WordPress to allow this and I've paid for access to edit the CSS - which I won't be doing! I've raised a query with FreeParking, in case it's a problem at their end.
If anyone can provide step by step instructions for a Luddite, I would be grateful. Please note, I've used the instructions that WordPress provide (here:http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/) and they haven't helped!
Thanks
