It sounds like your problem is a connectivity one that may be with the ISP you have. How are you connecting to the interent and to wordpress.com please? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Check for known issues with your ISP.

Are your logging-in using https> See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

I did finally manage to gain access briefly yesterday and again this morning, however the problem is happening again since I came online this afternoon. I use Internet Explorer 9, but it happens when I use Firefox too. I haven't changed any settings etc either.

Also when I try to log out of WordPress it comes up saying page cannot be displayed. Clicking on the Diagnose Connection Problems brings up a message saying 'could not connect to the secure web server "wordpress.com". I've gone through the various things it suggests to help solve the problem to no avail.

Can anyone enlighten us as to what the problem is because I'm beginning to get desperate now?! Thanks.

I originally set it up on my Mac at work (shh!) and have worked on it at home on my PC laptop. No problems. Then two days ago, I logged into my account and tried to preview the site - no joy. I could edit the pages, etc but not preview/view it. I'm taken to a "this page is private so you have to log in" page, which I did to no avail. I thought maybe there was a problem with our Firefox not being the latest version so I went through that whole process but still no go. My cookie settings are set to accept first party cookies.

Any suggestions?
