Tags and Categories are treated the same way by search engines. You can assign more than one relevant Category and/or Tag to any post provided they are supported by the keywords in the text of the posts. These days search engines pay more attention to your keywords in your content than they do to your keywords in Tags/Categories. That's due to the fact that people have used irrelevant categories and tags to game search engine results and Google responded to that opportunistic spamdexing. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/03/01/revisiting-keywords-and-tags/

I don't believe there is a limit to nesting sub-categories other than a practcial one but I can't say for sure. You can create a hierarchical Categories structure that's at least 4 levels deep. I know that because I have done it.

Hi all,
I was hoping you might be able to help me out with how WordPress works, in particular with categories.

So what i would like to know is basically how many levels can i have and can a post be part of various categories.

in more detail....
Say i have a post that is in Music>Rock>Reviews is that a possible amount of levels of categories for it?
Then in it possible to also have that post in Art>Music>Interviews?

The categories are just examples hope i've made it clear enough.

Let me know if you have any questions, thanks in advance.
