i love wordpress and look forward to the day i have command over it and can help others as you continue to help us. Until that day comes a girl can dream, build, and blog! THANKS!

Can the category archive pages be edited in any way? How can I get them to display a simpler/cleaner view featuring just Post Link, excerpt, and picture?

No I'm sorry they can't be. They are automatically produced by the software. if you want that kind of control over a theme you will not get it here. This is a wordpress MU multi-user blogging platform. All blogs wearing the same theme here are using the same template. Only Staff can access and edit those files because every edit they make affects all blogs wearing the same theme.

I think you ought to read this carefully because you may not be happy here. It's an article that lays out all the differences between wordpress.COM free hosted blogs and wordpress.ORG installs for self hosting. > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Yes I actually had to go into the "screen options" tap and toggle it there. :-)

Another Question if you dont mind... Can the category archive pages be edited in any way? I would like to remove "Browsing All Posts filed under.."

How can I get them to display a simpler/cleaner view featuring just Post Link, excerpt, and picture? (instead of large post titles with excerpts or full post)

Thx

Be sure you are in a post and not a page. Only posts have the excerpt box.

Try this please just for location purposes. Click the "new post" link. When that page opens look below the Editor box where you type the post text in.

I apologize timethief. I've just spent 20 mins (embarrassed lol) trying to find the excerpt module in Inuit with no success.

I went to one of my posts and clicked "edit this post". Is that what you mean by "Editor Box"?

On the screen under "Edit Post" there is a place for the post title. Under that is the big Visual/HTML text box.

How do I get to the Except box?

THX

If and only if you copy and paste an excerpt including a thumbnail image code into the Excerpt box in every post. That box is found below the editor box.

Thanks timethief. I am looking into the sitemap stuff now.

When I click a category in my menu ie Yada Yada Yada, it will take me to a page that says "Browsing All Posts filed under »Yada Yada Yada«", and then it only lists the Title of the Posts and the description.

Is there a way to put a picture with each title/description in that list of posts?

thx

I also use the Inuit Types theme and like the fact it has a page Template for a Sitemap. I am not creating featured images.

Are you aware that you can copy and paste an excerpt including a thumbnail image code into the Excerpt box in this theme? That box is found below the editor box. In that way rather than the theme automatically displaying the beginning of the post you can choose which excerpt will be displayed.

I am trying to make it where when someone clicks on a particular category, they will be directed to an index of that category's posts. I want this index to show the title, a picture and a small excerpt.

I've seen this before on a wordpress blog, but can't remember where.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Any help is appreciated...
