In some cases, it could take up to about 3 months depending on the search engine's full index cycles. Generally they index a site, and then for 3 months or so, all they do is look for new stuff by inspecting your sitemap.xml file.

If you had it set to block search engines for a while, then they might notice that and now that it is open again, re-index the entire site in which case, your new blog title should be picked up sooner.

Your custom domain .org blog is hosted at wordpress.com.

It'll take some time for search engines to update the 'title' of your blog. Wait for 2-3 days or more.

After starting a blog, I changed the name but kept the same domain. Now, in search engines, my blog still comes up under the old name. Is there a way to fix this?

My blog is the African American Performance Art Archive at http://aapaa.org

Thanks!
