They won't appear in the Users list until they accept their invitation, but you can still see them at Users -> Invite New.

In the meantime, out of the original 10 invitees, there are 5 who show up in the users list, instead of 8. I'm guessing they haven't completed the registration process for their wordpress accounts? Or something like that.

The 11th invitation I actually sent to myself about 24 hours ago, to a different email address, because I wanted to see what was going on from a user's perspective. However, that invitation still has not arrived.

However, only one is showing up in the users list on the dashboard. So far no one has been able to publish a post, even though it says they have author status.

In both of your cases, please try removing them from the list there, then re-invite them as Authors.

After her name it shows the date of the 2nd invitation (when I invited her to be an author) and says ''accepted''.
