As a bonus, your main site will then benefit from the search engine ranking of your blog.

WordPress will map to TLD (top level domains) or to subdomains, but not subdirectories.

also, there is never a WWW in a domain name here, whether it is the free blog.wordpress.com or whether it is a mapped domain you own.

I want to change my blog name from mywebsite.wordpress.com to http://www.mywebsite.com/blog. However, with the domain upgrade, I can redirect to 'blog.mywebsite.com' but not 'mywebsite.com/blog'. How can I do this?

What is the easiest way to do this? I want to continue managing my blog via the wordpress interface - just want to change the domain to 'mywebsite.com/blog'.

PS. In other words, I don't want to redirect to a subdomain (blog.website.com). I want to redirect to a subdirectory (website.com/blog).
