you'll probably also need to change the background of the blog as well, since the edges are faded to match the background:

#page {
background:transparent url(http://s.wordpress.com/wp-content/themes/default/images/kubrickbg.gif) repeat-y scroll center top;
}

Greets:

Please note how I changed the URL in your post there. The use of the 'www' bit like that is incorrect. The 'fruppy' bit takes the place of the 'www' and they can not coexist. 30% of the net and most search engine spiders can't or won't follow such a link.

To answer your question though, you want to change the background of your body tag. This is what you currently have:

body {
background: url("http://s.wordpress.com/wp-content/themes/default/images/kubrickbgcolor.gif");
}

You need to copy that to your CSS but instead use the URL of the image you want in there.

Hope this helps,

I've read the FAQs but none has helped me so far. Likewise, I've just purchased the CSS upgrade and currently all I really want to do is make changes to the dead background to the sides but have not found any way I could do that. : (
