Have you read the relevant support documentation for purchasing a domain mapping upgrade? http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

Before Upgrading – Important Notes
WordPress.com supports registering domains with the extensions .com, .org, .net, or .me. You can still map domains with other extensions to your blog – you just have to register them with another registrar and then map them to your blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/#before-upgrading-important-notes

I am trying to change the url to electricreel.ca rather than the .wordpress. I checked the blog info but right off the bat I found a problem. In General settings there is no Option to change the wordpress url or the site address. I don't know why. When I did some research I discovered that it might have to do with a MULISITE problem. I didn't set up a multisite, but perhaps thats the issue. Other users suggested going to the wp-config and eliminating the other sites that might be connected.

Can you help with this, it is inexorably frustrating to deal with.
