At this time, Chateau shows custom excerpts so you can use the "custom excerpt" module when you write or edit a post to custom write a summary to appear on your front page as well. And you can include a picture there. (200px wide I think)
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/the-excerpt-function/

Or I think you can choose a featured image and wp.com will truncate your posts after a certain number of words. I have not used this function: only the custom excerpts…

Hi 1tess,

No not exactly...If you go to http://www.chateau-theme.com/ and scroll down to the bottom of the featured post, there is an option seen "check out some previous articles" and 2 are featured under that section. I would like my home page display a little more content instead of just the latest post and it appears this option shown on the chateau theme website is one step closer in the direction...any ideas? Thanks!

Are you talking about the "recent posts" widget?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/recent-posts-widget/
or perhaps "top posts and pages" widget?

Hello,

When looking at the template for the Chateau theme I notice there is a section toward the bottom entitled "Check Some Previous Articles" and underneath are some recent posts. (See site http://www.chateau-theme.com/)

I would like to add this feature to my Chateau site (www.hipandhealthykids.com); however am uncertain how to do so. Any ideas?

Thanks!
