Thank you, Raincoaster - that helped.

As for the links... I don't understand how an article telling me I'm confused will help. I already knew that. I think I'll just message the owner of the site I referenced and ask her how she did hers.

how do I put a summary of a post on the main page of the story blog?

Use a theme that does this automatically. Either that or use the More tag where you want the break to be (it's the button that looks like a dotted line across the page).

how do I make sure the main page remains the main page?

If you follow the instructions TT gave you above it will, don't worry.

Hello everyone - sorry to clog your forum with basic questions, but I can hardly figure out what I'm trying to ask, let alone how to ask it. Terminology is killing me. Here's what I have: 2 blogs - one for general blogging, and one for my Sims stories. the general blog is easy, as it's just post and post and post. But for the story blog, here's what I need: I write more than one story at a time. I'd like to have a separate place for each story, so that when you are reading a particular story, you don't see posts for other stories. Like... story 1 should have a static page where each post (or a summary or cut or whatever you call it) is shown. Then the same set up for story 2. I know the difference between a page and a post but can't figure out how to accomplish what I'm trying to do. How do I put a post under a specific page? And how do I put a summary of a post on the main page of the story blog? And how do I make sure the main page remains the main page? If none of this makes sense (I sympathize, believe me), then here would be an example of what I'm talking about: http://radsims.wordpress.com/. It doesn't have to look exactly like that, but something like it would be good.

Any kind soul willing to take the clueless by the hand? This won't be my last problem, I can assure you. I'm kinda lost with all of this.
