If I do need to move to a self-hosted site, is there any easy way to port over the website I've built here?

No you cannot port it at all. You have to hire a web host, set upa wordpress.org install and use export/import to move the blog content.

Let's start with the fact that WordPress.com blogs cannot be equipped for e-commerce.

1) Only "Donate" buttons are allowed on wordpress, not "Buy Now" buttons.

Correct. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

2) There is no way to do a dropdown menu for a paypal button in wordpress.

That's correct and if you try to create dropdowns the code will not work on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

3) There are plugins that will allow more advanced Paypal buttons, but these are only available in a wordpress.ORG self-hosted site, not wordpress.COM.

Correct. Read this please > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I would like to add a Paypal "Donate" button with a dropdown menu for different levels of membership. I've been looking into how to do this with my wordpress.COM site. There is a lot of conflicting information.

Here are some things I've heard:
1) Only "Donate" buttons are allowed on wordpress, not "Buy Now" buttons.
2) There is no way to do a dropdown menu for a paypal button in wordpress.
3) There are plugins that will allow more advanced Paypal buttons, but these are only available in a wordpress.ORG self-hosted site, not wordpress.COM.

I've already signed up for pro service at wordpress.com -- I'm really disappointed to find out that I may need to move to a self-hosted option in order to do this one thing. Is this true? Is a self-hosted site my only option?

If I do need to move to a self-hosted site, is there any easy way to port over the website I've built here? Is there any way to get a refund or a partial refund, since my site has only been up a few weeks?
