Yet, when I chose from the drop down menu, my Home and About disappeared. It's like it supports either the menu bar of the About and Home "or" the menu bar of the customized ones I created. Any idea if I am getting it right or not and how to solve this?

You can add the "About" page and a link to your "Home" or main posts page into the custom menu.

Hmmm, you might want to just try that. For an example my blog here, my theme supports two menus and the top one is made of direct links.

This link is so so useful. I tried now and it worked. One problem though. I see your point about the difference between ITEM and MENU. I didn't know that.
