I've read about how to buy and a little bit about redirecting, however, what I would like to know is can I not just host the current blog on the new site? Will the new site still have the same blog functions available or will it be more complicated? Will I lose all my stats? If I have to redirect to the old blog site, will the url appear as the wordpress.com one or remain as myblog.com?

Apologies if this is all covered somewhere (it probably is) but I just wanted to really know the ins and outs before purchasing that domain name.
