2) The thumbnails will link to the slideshow only if you insert them as a gallery. If you insert them as individual images like you've done, then table or no table you get no slideshow.

3) You're confusing my align none with Link URL none: the one has nothing to do with the other.

To create some space to the right of each image, change this:
<img class=ETC ETC
to this:
<img style="margin-right:16px;" class=ETC ETC

(16px is just an example: change the number to adjust the space.)

PS You need to correct the height of the fourth image: it's 2px larger than the rest.

1. Is there any way to add a copyright notice, given that I can't add a footer via coding, or any way that's recommended?

2. I created a table to display thumbnail images. The first three display fine, all symmetrical and equally-sized, but for some reason the fourth one sits half as high as the others, stretching the table out. I can't see any obvious reason in the coding why it's doing this, so I'm really not sure what to fix. Can anyone suggest something?
