Please read thse troublehooting image tips. I recommmend that ypu prepare every image in either desktop image editing software or online image editing software, optimize it and pre-size it to the exact dimensions specified by the theme and then upload the images.

If you keep uploading oversized non-optimized images (1) you will be wasting your space allocation and (2) bringing the cropper into play automatically means there is a loss of image quality.
