Plus I would like a box behind my text as the background image that was uploaded can distract from the text.

I checked http://avenue9graphic.wordpress.com/ and I can't see where the background image is distracting with any of the text. Were you able to fix this on your own?

I need help with both increasing the font size on all of the body text on all pages.

The first thing I would recommend trying is using the settings on the Appearance → Custom Design → Fonts page for "Body Text." It will only work if you select a font there though, will that work for you?
