I looked up your dns records, I would follow auxclass instructions and change your MX record to mail.alla2012.com.au.

You should also should set up your SPF record, I think your entry will look like this, if you do any mailing trough third party programs, then you can add their ip's also

TXT v=spf1 a mx ip4:27.123.31.81 ?all

Your can use this SPF Wizard, it's really good.

After you get that set up, you'll want to set up your Domainkeys and DKIM this is a little trickier. You'll need to make check to see if your emails software supports both.

After you get it all done, you can test everything by emailing
mailtest@unlocktheinbox.com

It will respond to you and let you know if you have it all set up right..

Also you should take the time to add yourself to the DNS Whitelist located here.

They will ask you for your CIDR Ip range: Your's is 27.123.31.81/32

Note the above will only work if you have a static IP address (my hosting does)

sorry about the confusion - hope this is better - the staff was real helpful when I moved my domain - I had a formatting issue -

A MAIL ALLA2012.COM.AU 27.123.31.81.<br /> MX 10 ALLA2012.COM.AU.

I took out some periods and the extra mail - this is about what worked for me when I moved my site.

Remember the full stop (period at the end)
The format is different here a bit - I had to get help when I moved after getting the info from the head Tech at my old host.

No, haven't tried google apps yet, just trying to get it working with my existing email hosting.

I just called their helpdesk and they told me I need to do a record for mail and for webmail too, but there was a bit of a communication breakdown at that point and I wasn't really sure what they were talking about.

They told me to contact wordpress - is there a support number for wordpress??

Yesterday I tried to set up domain mapping using a custom DNS record, but I can't get it to work. I want wordpress to host my site, but continue to have email hosted with my existing email host.

Here's what I did:

1. Change DNS server record with my domain provider to be the wordpress DNSs (NS1.WORDPRESS.COM etc)

2. Set up custom record for my DNS on wrodpress as follows:

MX 10 MAIL.ALLA2012.COM.AU.
A MAIL.ALLA2012.COM.AU 27.123.31.81

This is how my email hosting provider told me to make the custom record.

The problem is now when I go to login to my webmail I get an error - IMAP server not found.

Any ideas on how I should be setting this up??
