No problem! I've gone ahead and removed the domain mapping upgrade and issued a $13 refund. It can take 1-2 weeks for the refund to be reflected on your account.

If you don't already own a domain name and want to register a new one through WordPress.com, you can opt to register a domain instead of just adding domain mapping. Complete instructions on registering a new domain are here.

If you need further help, just let me know.

Hi Kathryn
Sorry I'm new at this - I did not register the domain - I thought it all happened at wordpress. In fact, I thought I was essentially paying to change the name of my existing wordpress blog to another wordpress hosted address ;(
So no, unfortunately I didn't register the domain at ENOM and therefore do not own the name.
Please do remove the mapping upgrade - it would be much appreciated. I guess I'll have to come up with another new name.

Thanks for the quick response.

Ok. I chose the name when I was mapping on wordpress. How would I know if I own it or not?
I thought if the payment went through it was confirmed that I could use it. Or not?

Do you already own the domain aladylikeme.com? It's only possible to map a domain that you own.

That domain is registered through ENOM. The current name servers are set to:

ns.dns1.co.za
ns.dns2.co.za

If you own the domain, to get it pointing to your WordPress.com site, you'll need to log into your registrar's control panel and change the above to:

ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.com

This is something you should be able to do yourself, as long as you already own the domain aladylikeme.com and have access to your domain registrar's control panel. Here is the ENOM homepage:

I'm having the same problem. I was using zodwakumalo.wordpress.com and wanted to change the domain to aladylikeme.com and paid $13 to do it. Now I can't access either of my blogs. When I go to the Domain page it's telling me about nameservers and editing DNS records. What on earth? Do we now have to enlist the services of a developer or coder? Where do we get these records and what is a nameserver - and where do I find it?

where i find the long dns code to make my domain accessible from search engines

Could you please clarify what you mean by this or provide an example, as I'm not sure what you're referring to. No code is needed to make your site accessible to search engines.

Also - if you'd like to set footyacctips.co.uk as your primary domain, you can do so under Store > Domains.
