Because you did not own the domain and it was not registered, it was not working. Were you charged for the domain registration? If so what were the charges? Did you choose the private registration option? What do you see when you check your upgrades?

Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades >> You should see a list of all your upgrades.

I will flag this also for staff attention as they can look at your account and charges and adjust as required
