Thank you, timethief. That's what I thought the answer would be.

You're right, by the way: I'm experimenting with the Oulipo theme in part because its default alignment appears to be left-justification.

The blog linked to your username is wearing the Oulipo theme. Setting that issue aside you cannot reposition anything at all on a free hosted WordPress.com blog theme without (1) CSS editing experience (2) CSS editing tools and (3) an annually renewable custom design upgrade.

A custom design upgrade will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. It does not allow you to remove footer links to the theme designer or to wordpress.com. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at WordPress.COM.

If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.

I'm using the Mystique theme. The default alignment for both posts and comments seems to be full justification. I can change it to left justification manually for each post, but there does not appear to be a way to display comments in left justification. Is there any way to change the default alignment for both posts and comments to left justification, or is the default built into the theme and unchangeable?
