The problem was occurring in IE9. So I deleted all the history, cookies, everything. I even upgraded to IE10, to see if there was a compatibility issue. The problem persisted in IE10.

To resolve the problem, I went manually into the cookie "Temp" folder. ON my computer, that was Windows/TemporaryInternetFiles/ and manually deleted them. Thereafter, the bad cookie direction was erased and the problem stopped.

This is silly. I just want the normal "Visual" view to be the default writing view. It won't stop reverting back to the "Text" tab and view.
