in the menu below it click the Categories link
One that page you will be able to delete the Category.

it (for example, hovering the cursor over the category name) won't allow me to delete it. Only the options "Edit, Quick Edit, and View" (not delete) appear. Can anyone give me some advice about how to delete it?
