Thank you very much! They must have changed this on my theme then, because I've had the same theme for years, and always had the author name on every post.

Previously, there were theme specific variations. Also those themes that did display author bylines were changed by Staff not long ago. Regardless of the theme, bylines will only display now if there are at least two authors who both have at least one published post in the blog. I haven't changed any settings; my name is still there in the 'display name publicly as' settings, it's properly in the 'author' box when you're in write/edit mode on a post. It's just that the name doesn't display on posts as I want it to and as it did before.

I would be very thankful if someone has an idea what this could be about?

(I have searched forums for 'display name' and various combinations -- but perhaps that's wrong too?)
