Sorry. Please ignore this phrase above "where you want to display a unique custom header image"

Edit: Open the editor of the post and locate the Featured Image module in the bottom right corner under Page Attributes. Click "Set featured image".
See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#setting-a-featured-image

After you do that then you can go to Theme Options and make your selection of numbers of featured posts to display in the dropdown here > Featured Post Entries

Thank you for answering me. I have gone through all that you have mentioned and have already figured how they work.
My problem is not regarding the main page - I guess you have looked at it - but on the other pages. There are three on my blog - "yummy", "hai-hui" and "photo". If you go there, you'll see that there are no photos. As I was saying before, the first two are ok even without, but the third...
I have looked in Menu and Pages settings and I couldn't find a way to make the above-mentioned pages look like the main one.

There are theme options. You will find them on this page and describing them to you will take more words and time than your clicking buttons and trying them will. :) Appearance > Themes > Theme Options

I have Inuit Types themes installed and the pages (categories) that I added do not display the featured image or the entire post. It would be great if I could get it to do this, since one of the categoris is "photo" and anyone who clicks on it just sees a list of titles now.
