You can change the name servers to WordPress.COM and keep your email at your old client - it is a bit tricky - I do the email that way and there have been several people at Godaddy (so many at Godaddy that they now have instructions just for them

http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/

My DNS records look something like this

A mail 255.255.255.255<br />
MX 10 mail.my-domain.com.

I had to get some info from my old host - then get some more help to format the info - not my strong suite but did get it to work

Does the info in this support doc help answer your question? http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/custom-dns/

Also http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?baddns=true&host=innov.aero

Unfortunately I'm a bit DNS challenged, but as far as I know you can only do domain masking with your registrar because the domain has to be mapped from here, and that's an annually renewable upgrade.

Hopefully another forum volunteer will be along soon with some additional input .

I have my domain name registered with another organisation who also host my emails. It appears I need to keep the name server set to that of the other organisation and create an A record to point to my wordpress site in order for my email to continue to function - they indicated their infrastructure wouldnt allow the nameserver to be elsewhere and have access to the email hosting.

Do I simply need to create an A record in their system to point to the ip address of the ns1.wordpress.com nameserver in order for the website to be visible or do I need to have a specific IP address for the site?
