On the left hand side when I preview a theme up the top is a "buy now" option, then down the bottom is the "save and activate" option thanks anyway for the superfast reply!

WordPress.COM seems to be a bit over zealous maybe in promoting other upgrades such as a custom domain name or domain mapping or their bundles and that seems to be a bit confusing at times -

But basic blog here is free and 200+ free themes to choose from
