It does not matter if you have registered the domain though Godaddy or WordPress.COM (Wild West) you have the same ownership rights etc.

In a way nobody "owns" a domain it is just registered and then you sort of rent it, forget to pay the rent and it goes away and someone else can register it and use it.

If so, how do I make it so that I will always own the domain?
