Yes that was what I was doing. I copied and pasted the code from Google but it must have had an extra hidden character somewhere that caused a line break and I kept getting a 404. Removed teh linebreak and hey presto. It worked.

Huzzah. :D

Thanks timethief. I managed to get the ?rel=author to work. Seems it was user error :p

Many thanks for the response though.

Very few themes have an author profile designed into the theme. See here for selection of another theme that does not have this feature http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/author-displayed-or-not/

For themes that do not have an author profile, you can create a draft post and create an author profile in it and then copy and paste it on the bottom of each post.

Note to the wise: re author profiles
Lengthy author profiles are ignored. They look unprofessional. Adding a lengthy rambling blah, blah, blah to every post will compromise your credibility. Create one that accurately reveals your authority and brand in as few keywords as possible.

I'd be interested in this too for easyas12pc.co.uk/easyas12pc.wordpress.com

I'm using the Parament theme by Automattic. This or the ability to add ?rel=author.
