OOPS! You forgot to post the URL for yyour wordpress.com blog. Do you need how to instructions for capturing an image and linking to it in either an image widget or text widget? Or are you looking for a soapbox?

I think the frustration isn't that a "Free product" isn't working well enough, so much that other free blogger sites have these capabilities that WordPress seems to want to ignore. I thought WordPress was supposed to be superior to other blogger sites? So it is surprising to me that they won't allow pretty basic features that other sites include. Doesn't make sense.

<blockquote. I'm sort of amazed at the folks who get irritated at a FREE product not working well enough to provide them with income; building a business means having to invest capital sometimes!

You ain't seen nothing yet. This is a very subdued thread that even contains a simple workaround in it. I have witnessed bloggers who cannot accept this free service as is and be grateful that it exists. When they cannot have power and control they throw temper tantrums. The ones who are the most amusing are those who threaten to go Blogger. From time to time I have been tempted to post to SHOUT DO IT! ;)

I have several friends that have etsy shops, and they simply put an image and appropriate text into a text widget and link the image and/or text to their etsy shop. A couple of them are getting quite a bit of traffic on their etsy sites that way.

Etsy Mini is a javascript or flash embeddable store. Not being able to include it is very frustrating as it means I can't tie my blog in properly to my store, and has caused me more than once to consider leaving WordPress.com. Unfortunately there is no stock code for it. If you want me to email the code generated for my specific Etsy Mini I can.

The RSS feeds from my Etsy shop don't come through with the images in the RSS widget, so I can't even fake it that way.

Could you point to the Etsy code in question? Be it as it may, it needs to work as a widget since plugins aren't allowed on WordPress.com, see: http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/
