Only posts can be password protected.

http://theyearofseriousgardening.wordpress.com/ is set to Private. You need to change that setting on Settings->Reading.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Very frustrating. I've checked the blog is marked visible, the posts are published, public is selected. What the heck!
