some of my posts are really long (800-1000 words) and also have pictures and videos, which can make scrolling down to the next post quite a pain. that's why i want to show excerpts on the page now with something like a 'continued after the jump' link so that readers can choose whether to read more.

however whenever i type an excerpt in on the 'new post' page, the display really doesn't change at all. is there something that must be enabled? or something

other tips are welcome too :)
