I'm in the process of moving nicepaul.com from a WordPress.org site to a hosted WordPress.com site because of problems with hackers and malware. Still getting used to the limitations over here! But robust simplicity is more appealing right now than the potentially unstable flexibility of hosting it myself.

If you just wanted to link to the homepage without that category shown, and the category ID was 123, you add ?cat=-123 to the link.

I'm not talking about a widget, and I'm not talking about wordpress.ORG. I would still want a link to that category in the category list.
