It it is hosted on a third-party hosting service such as GoDaddy or dreamhost, etc., then you can. If your blog is hosted here at wordpress.COM, and you are using the domain mapping, then no you cannot. The domain mapping upgrade does not exclude you from the restrictions here. All you get is to have your own domain name instead of blog.wordpress.com.

Hi Ian,

I will look out for an alternative solution

If you are still looking for an alternative solution, you can try taking a screenshot of your likebox and upload it in your blog and have it in your sidebar using a text widget or image widget.
If you need further instructions, you can read this tutorial:

@thegreatwarpofcast
I'm sorry but we cannot use iframe codes on wordpress.com blogs. The software will strip them out to preserve security as this is a multiuser blogging platform. There are other restricted codes as well listed here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

You will find a social bookmark generator for wordpress.com blogs including a Facebook "like" button here > http://getsociallive.com
Best wishes with your blog. :)

Hi everybody,
I want to embed a Facebook-Like-Box into my WordPress blog. It is a free-of-charge blog hosted by wordpress (xyz.wordpress.com).
Facebook gives me an iframe-Code, but when I try to insert it into a post, it does not work. WordPress just deletes the code. I found out that there are several plugins for self-hosted blogs, but couldn't find anything about blogs hosted by wordpress.
Does anybody know how I can make things work?

Thanks,
Ian
