I have resorted to just removing the header image and replacing it with header text until things get sorted out.

What I would like, though, is for my normal header to display always. I use featured images of certain dimensions for displaying on facebook etc.

I've never seen the featured image take the place of the header until now.

I thought it may have been a bug, but it's still there.

Every post that has a featured image displays the featured image as a header. Also, by trying to keep the image in proportion, it ends up being huge and quite unattractive.
