a) Featured images in iTheme2 will show up no matter what their size.

b) "In settings I have chosen the static home page." The slider shows up on the main posts page. When you set a static page as your front, then your homepage is no longer the main posts page.

@ all - thank you. still no success. checked sticky posts and verified that images are on the bottom right where it said "set feature image". The images are different sizes but none smaller than the specified dimensions - yet no post slider appears at all.

in settings I have chosen the static home page. ? Completely puzzled.

Hello again,
If the images are undersized they will not display. If they are over-sized they might display but they will be stretched. Bringing the cropper into play it tantamount to accepting compromised image quality. That's why we Volunteers recommend optimizing and pre-sizing every image offline to the specified dimensions, prior to uploading them into your blog.

Thanks for the link to the dimensions, handy ;-)

Are your featured images the exact dimensions specified by your theme? This is my understanding. iTheme2 also has lets you feature any post you like in it’s featured post section on the home page. All you have to do to activate is have a sticky post with a featured image. Once you have one, the featured post area will appear. If you have more than 5, navigation arrows will appear on the left and right. Your visitors can then click through to see all the posts you’ve featured. http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/itheme2/

I'm far from an expert in this but it sounds like you have everything right to be honest! Does your featured image appear in the box bottom right where is normally says 'set featured image' ? If it's not then you might just be clicking on the 'Insert into Post' button when you are looking at the image in the media library. It has to be the 'set as featured image' to the right of it that you click. This confused me a little at one point.

Hope this helps, other that that, I'm beat.

I've just changed my theme to itheme2 as I was keen on the featured Posts carousel that can be added. For the life of me I can't find how to get it to activate. I have made 4 of my posts sticky and added a featured image to each of them. This still hasn't done the trick. I can see no further instructions on how to achieve this. Help!!
